It\u2019s a big investment, but well worth it. At Ramapo College of New Jersey, we help students manage their costs through a combination of federal, state, and institutional funds.<\/p>\n<p>About 67 percent of Ramapo\u2019s students receive more than $40 million in aid. This aid includes grants &#8211; funds which the students are awarded but don\u2019t have to pay back &#8211; and loans, which must be repaid. Students also can receive a work-study job to earn money to help pay for school.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a class=\"btn\" title=\"Financial Aid: Scholarships\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/scholarships\/\">Academic Achievement Scholarships<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Depending upon need, undergraduate students may receive a<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Federal Pell Grant<\/strong> (maximum amount of the grant, $7,395 2023-2024) <strong>OR <\/strong><strong>New Jersey Tuition Grant (TAG)<\/strong> if they are state residents (maximum amount of grant, $9,493 in 2023-2024 at Ramapo College).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students also may receive as much as $1,400 per year as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/eof-program\/\">Educational Opportunity Fund<\/a> grant recipient if they are from areas judged to be economically and educationally disadvantaged.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a class=\"btn\" href=\"https:\/\/npc.collegeboard.org\/app\/ramapo\">Net Price Calculator<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants for Pell-eligible students and Federal College Work Study funds may also be available.<\/p>\n<p>A wide variety of loans are available for undergraduates, including Federal Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized, and Parent PLUS. The popular Direct Student Loan provides dependent freshmen students with as much as $5,500, with up to $6,500 for sophomores and up to $7,500 for juniors and seniors. Independent students may be eligible for additional loan funds. Students can qualify for a Federal Direct Unsubsidized\u00a0Loan regardless of their income, or their family\u2019s income.<\/p>\n<p>Graduate students may receive Federal Direct Unsubsidized student loans and are eligible for Federal College Work Study.<\/p>\n<p>Eligibility for Federal and State aid includes demonstration of financial need, possession of a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate, and enrollment as a matriculating (admitted to the College) student. Students must have a valid Social Security Number; register with Selective Service if required; make satisfactory academic progress while in school; and be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or a U.S. permanent resident who has an Alien Registration Card. (Individuals who also have I-94 forms from the Department of Homeland Security may qualify for student financial aid under certain circumstances.).<\/p>\n<div class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\"><span class=\"fa-stack\"><i class=\"fa fa-circle fa-stack-2x\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-down fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-up fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><\/span>\n\nBook Advances<\/div><div class=\"c_content\">\n<p>Estimated financial aid is not disbursed (actualized) until one week after the 50% refund period has ended. Therefore, financial aid recipients, whose disbursed financial aid will create a credit balance on their College account, may go to the College Bookstore and purchase their textbooks and course related material and supplies <strong>prior<\/strong> to the disbursement date.<\/p>\n<p>A student must first go to the Office of Financial Aid to see if they are eligible for a Book Advance. If a student qualifies, a Book Advance transaction will be posted to the student\u2019s College account. The Office of Student Accounts will transmit a Book Advance transaction file each day to the Bookstore. <strong><em>A student will not be permitted to make purchases until the following day when the bookstore opens its doors.<\/em><\/strong> An <strong>EOF<\/strong> student must <strong>first<\/strong> see there <strong>EOF<\/strong> counselor before a Book Advance can be posted to their account by the Office of Financial Aid. Click on the <strong>Deadlines<\/strong> button below for the <strong>first<\/strong> day that purchases can be made.<\/p>\n<p>A student may purchase <strong>ONLY textbooks and course related materials and supplies<\/strong> with their Book Advance monies. When a student completes their purchase(s), they may proceed to any cash register for checkout. <strong>Book advance purchases cannot be made without a valid form of picture I.D.<\/strong>\u00a0 (Student I.D. card, driver&#8217;s license with <strong>picture<\/strong>, or credit card with <strong>picture<\/strong>). Each purchase will be posted on-line to the student\u2019s account in the Bookstore system. Each purchase will reduce the amount available in the student\u2019s Book Advance. A student may continue to make purchases up to the balance in their account.<\/p>\n<p>If a student needs to increase their Book Advance, they must first return to the Office of Financial Aid. If the student qualifies for an increase, a Book Advance transaction will be posted to the student\u2019s College account. The Office of Student Accounts will transmit a Book Advance transaction file each day to the Bookstore. <strong><em>A student will not be permitted to make purchases until the following day when the bookstore opens its doors.<\/em><\/strong> An <strong>EOF<\/strong> student must return to your counselor <strong>before<\/strong> a Book Advance increase can be posted to their account by the Office of Financial Aid.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NO CASH REFUNDS will be made on Book Advance purchases.<\/strong> If a student returns books or school supplies, their Bookstore account will be reimbursed. Click on the <strong>Deadlines<\/strong> button below for the <strong>last<\/strong> day that purchases can be made. The Office of Student Accounts will adjust each student\u2019s account to reflect the net purchases made in the Bookstore.
