The Baccalaureate Program in Nursing (BSN) has been at Ramapo College since 1993. The Valley Hospital partnered with Ramapo in 2004 to allow the College to increase its capacity within the nursing program. In this partnership, the nursing courses are taught on the Ramapo campus by the Ramapo Nursing Program faculty, and the clinical courses are taught by the Masters prepared nurses of The Valley Hospital, who are given Clinical Associate Faculty status at Ramapo College.<\/p>\n

Applicants from high school, are invited to apply through the regular admissions processes and meet Admissions criteria accordingly. All interested students must apply directly into the Nursing program, and if selected for admission, a seat in the Nursing sequence is reserved for the enrolling student in their junior year, at the point of admission, if all requirements are met within the first 2 years of the curriculum.<\/p>\n

The Generic partnership program allows the students to work primarily within recognized centers of Excellence in Nursing. Other health care facilities are used dependent upon course objectives and students\u2019 learning needs. The facilities include acute care institutions, long-term care facilities, community health agencies, outpatient\/ ambulatory care settings, professional organizations and occupational health\/industrial sites.<\/p>\n

Graduates of the baccalaureate program are prepared as generalists to assume critical roles in the provision of nursing care in collaboration with other health professionals within complex health care systems. They are also prepared to be contributing members of society and are socialized to continue their education. The generic graduates are eligible to take the license examination (NCLEX)\u00a0 to become registered nurses.<\/p>\n

The nursing curriculum of the BSN Program reflects the use of the American Nurses\u2019 Association (ANA) Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and the AACN Essentials of Baccalaureate Nursing Practice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
