If the work is completed by the completion date indicated on the Incomplete Form or the academic calendar (the earliest date will be honored), the grade assigned replaces the I. If the work is not satisfactorily completed by the completion date the grade is changed to F.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requesting an Incomplete Grade:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Review the <a title=\"Academic Calendar\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/academic-calendars\/\">Academic Calendar<\/a> for Incomplete Deadlines<\/li>\n<li>The Incomplete Form must be completed by the student and the instructor.<\/li>\n<li>The form must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:reg@ramapo.edu\"> reg@ramapo.edu<\/a>. The Incomplete Request Form must be received in the Office of the Registrar by the last day of the semester\/session.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Note: <\/strong>Incompletes for the Winter term are not permitted for January graduates.\u00a0 If a January graduate needs an incomplete they will need to defer their graduation date to June.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div id=\"Incomplete Ext\" class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\"><span class=\"fa-stack\"><i class=\"fa fa-circle fa-stack-2x\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-down fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-up fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><\/span>Incomplete Extension<\/div><div class=\"c_content\">\n<h3>Incomplete Extensions<\/h3>\n<p>In extraordinary circumstances a student may request an incomplete extension. The incomplete may only be extended until the end of the semester following the semester the incomplete grade was given. The incomplete extension form must be obtained from the Office of the Registrar and requires the student&#8217;s signature and the faculty&#8217;s approval. \u00a0The deadline to submit the extension to the Office of the Registrar is the last day to resolve an incomplete grade as posted on the\u00a0 Academic Calendar.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div id=\"PF Grades\" class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\"><span class=\"fa-stack\"><i class=\"fa fa-circle fa-stack-2x\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-down fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-up fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><\/span>Pass\/Fail Grades<\/div><div class=\"c_content\">\n<h3>Pass \/ Fail Grades<\/h3>\n<p>This option may be initiated by the instructor or by the student. Instructors will specify that a course is being offered for P\/F grades in the course comments. In some cases the student may then petition for A to F grading. In the event that a course is being offered with A to F grading, students must select the P\/F grade type by the date specified on the Academic Calendar for that semester and it cannot be changed thereafter. Students may use the P\/F option on courses that are free electives only. The P\/F grade type may be selected by the student for a total of four credits in any term for a total of no more than four out of each 12 credits earned for a grade. This option is available only for elective courses. The Change of Grade Type Form is available at the Center for Student Success. This form must be filled out, the appropriate signatures obtained, and returned to the Advisement Center by the date noted on the Academic Calendar on the Web.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div id=\"Audit\" class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\"><span class=\"fa-stack\"><i class=\"fa fa-circle fa-stack-2x\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-down fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-up fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><\/span>Audit Grades<\/div><div class=\"c_content\">\n<h3>Audit Grades<\/h3>\n<p>The audit grade is given for completion of a course (except for exams and required papers), if requested by the deadline posted on the academic calendar. No credit is given for this course. (The same tuition and fees apply as in the case of enrollment for credit.)
