Non-Degree\/Visiting Students are considered part time students and may take a maximum of 11 credits per semester. A $25.00 non-refundable application fee will automatically be billed to all non-degree students upon registration.<\/p>\n<p>To qualify for in-state tuition, first-time registrants must provide proof of at least 12 consecutive months of residency in New Jersey. Failure to provide proof will result in out-of-state charges. The following constitutes proof of residency:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid NJ Drivers License (over 1 year)<\/li>\n<li>Valid NJ Voter Registration Card (over 1 year)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If neither form of ID can be produced, two documents that reflect permanent domicile in the state of New Jersey for one year prior to enrollment will be considered.<\/p>\n<p>Non-Degree\/Visiting Student enroll for many reasons and are an important part of the Ramapo College community. The College understands the unique situations of each student and works hard to meet their individual needs. Please note that registration is on a \u201cseats available\u201d basis. Please visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/testing\/\"><strong>Testing<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for further information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>* High school students can be exempted from testing if they score above a certain criteria on the SAT or ACT. Please contact Sanna Lemmetti at (201) 684-7232 or <a href=\"mailto:slemmett@ramapo.edu\">slemmett@ramapo.edu.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is Permitted to Register for Courses?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Au Pairs holding a current J-1 Visa.<\/li>\n<li>Participants who have completed all the requirements will be issued an R number (identification number) for access to register for classes and an email address.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What Does an Au Grade Mean?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Audit grades (AU) are not eligible for credit or transfer within the United States.<\/li>\n<li>Participants are required to attend class, as per the attendance policy; participate in all in-class activities, complete homework and assignments. Test-taking is optional.<\/li>\n<li>Professors may give participants who have excessive absenteeism a W (Withdrawal) rather than AU. A W grade does not fulfill J-1 academic requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What Classes are Offered to Au Pairs?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Au Pair participants may take up to two courses per semester with a maximum of four classes within the same academic year.<\/li>\n<li>Participants may enroll in most 100 and 200 level undergraduate courses , listed on the available Au Pair Class List. The list of available classes will be posted on this site on the first day of registration.<\/li>\n<li>English and math classes have a placement test requirement that must be passed before registration. Ramapo College does not offer classes in English as a Second Language (ESL).<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/testing\">Placement Test Registration<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Cost Information and Payment<\/h3>\n<p><strong>What are the costs?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$315.91 per audit course (AU grade), no credit<\/li>\n<li>$25 transcript fee (one-time fee)<\/li>\n<li>$40 placement test fee, if applicable<\/li>\n<li>Parking\u00a0$213.26 (includes both fall and spring semesters)<\/li>\n<li>Free Picture ID from Public Safety on first day of the class<\/li>\n<li>Textbooks and lab fees may be additional, depending on the course<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>When is payment due for courses?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Payments are due by\u00a0<strong>noon<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0<strong>September 11, 2024<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Payments may be submitted electronically by credit card or check, or in person by check or cash immediately upon registration. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/student-accounts\/methods\/\">Methods of Payment<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>It is strongly recommended that you submit payment at the time of registration in order to avoid de-registration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Are refunds available?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Classes may only be switched during the registration period to other classes on the selected Au Pair course list. This opportunity ends on the last day of the Add\/Drop period, 50% refund deadlines as posted do not apply for AuPair students, only 100% refunds are available if courses are dropped by the add\/drop deadline, which is September 10, 2024.<\/li>\n<li>Refunds are only available as per the academic calendar on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/registrar\/\">Registrar\u2019s website.\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<li>If a participant registers for a class that is not on the selected Au Pair course list, billable charges are due by posted Student Accounts deadlines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How Do I Get Started?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Au Pair application has to be submitted no later than\u00a0<strong>September 6, 2024\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/apply\">(Online Application)<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Receive your R-number by email.<\/li>\n<li>Register online (<a href=\"https:\/\/ssba.ramapo.edu:8443\/myssb\/twbkwbis.P_GenMenu?name=homepage&amp;accessibility=true\">Ramapo Self Service<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Questions?
