NOTE: A school core is not required for completion of the minor.
Minors are open to students regardless of school affiliation.


MSOC 101 Introduction to Sociology 3 crs.

THEORY:
 
MSOC 235 Comparative Development or 3 crs.
MSOC/SENV 209 Social Ecology or  
MSOC 208 Development Issues*
MSOC 332 Social Theory 3 crs.

METHOD:
 
MSOC 307 Social Research with Computers 4 crs.
MSOC 308 Social Statistics with Computers 4 crs.
MSOC 328 Sociology of Community 3 crs.

CONCENTRATION:

6 crs.
  Two electives as concentration, in either Community, World Transformation, or Culture and Communication (as described in Major requirements) preferably on the 300 level.  

  Minimum 26 crs.


*South India semester Study Abroad program

**Sociology minors can substitute another statistics course with the convener’s approval or take a proficiency exam administered by the sociology convening group in which case the minor would require 23 credits.

NOTE: Students may apply to the sociology convening group for elective credits course substitutions in line with sociology objectives and, that complement their requirements.
